The Start of a New Collection

"Altered Art" Tag

"Nature" 5 x 7 on canvas

"Nature" close up

"Cherish" mini stretched canvas

"Cherish" mini stretched canvas

Hi Everyone--
Here is a tag, 5 x 7 piece on canvas, and a mini stretched canvas piece which all include burlap, cheese cloth, lace, natural roots, twigs from a bird's nest, twine, and commercial papers. They have been gessoed and the tag and smaller piece have been inked. The "Cherish" piece includes hand-quilled roses and a bronze-toned embellishment.

The metal piece from Tim Holtz on the tag says "Altered" and so this little tag became my tribute to Altered Art. (And yes, I know it is mixed media.) It also includes buttons made from shells.
I am linking to Tag Tuesday for the Not On Paper Challenge--hugs to Louise!

Also, please join my drawing for a silver-toned necklace in the next post down!

Hugs,
Cindy

Wow, Cindy! I would never think of something like this! I especially love the juxtaposition of the burlap and lace....not to mention all those other 'natural' elements. Beautiful!

Fabulous! If I did this, it would not be called art! ha! I'm always inspired by folks in blogland to try new things and just go for it. :) Best wishes, Tammy

Your tags are always so beautiful and creative :) :) :) I loved the lace detail :):) :) The tag you sent me is so lovely, I'm afraid to use it in my Bible...I don't want it to get crushed...but I was thinking of taking a photo of it, printing it and them laminating it for my Bible...would that be okay? Well, until then...the tag looks super cute on my bookshelf...It makes my books look better...I kid you not!!! Have a lovely weekend. ...can't wait to see what other brilliant creations you come up with :) :) Love and hugs from Oregon, Heather :)

Hello Cindy! These are wonderful! I think once you add a natural element like the twigs to a piece it gives it such a soulful feel. The layer of trim and cloth do the same, really they are all just gorgeous! Thank you for stopping by, it really means so much to me! Theresa
