"Joan of Arc" Altered Art--For Dezinaworld

Hi Everyone--

I have just completed this piece for Dezinaworld's "Bronze" challenge. Through working on this, I came across an amazing quote from Joan of Arc (who is also the patron saint of New Orleans.) She said, "I am not afraid...I was born to do this." This statement as been resonating within me for 2 days...I think it is so powerful, especially the part the says, "I was born to do this." It makes me wonder, what were we all born to do? When all is said and done, I think I was born to be a mom. Everything else is icing on the cake.

Hugs,
Cindy

SO beautiful, Cindy! I've always been fascinated with Joan of Arc...can you imagine having so much sense of self at the age of 14, I think it was?!

I often think of that, as well...what was I born to do?...like you, I know that being a mother was a big part of what I'm here to do, and I'm so grateful for who I get to mother!

Thanks for sharing this beautiful piece today, and the beautiful thoughts that accompanied it...

Hope you have a wonderful weekend!

Good Morning Cindy,
Well said, and very beautiful! Hubby & I saw a tribute to Joan of Arc in the city of Rouen, France several years ago. It was amazing! Hope you are having a great day. My camera broke last night at my nephew's wedding. Phooey, of all times! So I must go camera shopping very soon! Kinda puts a cramp in my blogging!

Oh how I wish that I had an answer for this question. There are times when I feel like I know and then others when I have to ask "Is that enough?" Thank you for having such a thought provoking blog.. both of them are for that matter.
