This week, our Dezinaworld design team is partnering with Gingersnap Creations to bring you “Trains, Planes, and Automobiles.” I created this collage with a tag that features a WWII pilot.
If you are familiar with my art, you know that I don’t tend to make things that are masculine, so this was a real challenge for me. I decided to go “vintage” and make it a tribute to a time of valor--a time when women were writing to their soldiers who were fighting a brave fight and missing them so much and waiting for them to return home.
I know that many young women are doing the same thing today and really making a sacrifice while their soldiers are far away. So, while this piece is vintage, it is also a tribute to the soldiers who are fighting today and the families and loved ones who are eager for them to return home safely.
XO

I giggle as I read your post, I say the same thing any time I make something remotely masculine. It is just not me, and I hardly ever do it. I always have the disclaimer too. to funny! This is a wonderful vintage tag, very nice.
That is an AMAZING tag, Cindy! I LOVE IT! You really need to do more masculine things because you have a great eye for it! How perfect this one is~ xo Diana

Your tag is amazing! You captured the essence of that time.
I could see this in a office or library.
Beautiful!

Grande criação masculina! E que linda imagem masculina!!
I don't know why but the first thing that came to mind was "English Patient", your creation is wonderful and masculine! Hugs, Ira
Oh Cindy this brought back many memories as my brother was away for many years with the Royal Marines a total of 12 years so there was a lot of letter writing, he later went onto work for the Queen of England on her royal yacht Britannica as a bodyguard to her and the royal family and was away again for six months at a time again for many years, your tag reminded me of how much I missed him and how little we where allowed to say . Thank you for this bittersweet memory with your beautiful tag.
