Celebrate Your Creative Spirit!

Hi Everyone--
I recently received some awesome news that I am going to be featured in Crescendoh online magazine! It will be running soon...I will have more details later.

In celebration of that, I decided to do an online Link Party...It will transpire once a month on the 8th of each month and you will be able to post from that date until 7 days later each time.

The first Link Party will be Sunday, August 8, so I hope you will help me celebrate the creative spirit that resides in each one of us!

Some of you are artists. Others are photographers. Still others are collectors. Of course, others are culinary experts. Whatever brings out your creative spirit, share it with everyone here.

And please, if you want to participate, just post this on your blog to let others know in case they would like to join in! You can grab my new button from the right sidebar and place it on your blog and you will be set to go!

Also, if you would like to participate, just leave me a quick note on here to let me know.

I can’t wait to see what you come up with! There's only one requirement--do it for fun!

You are welcome to link up something you have already posted for a different party--no problem! Just want you to be part the excitement!

The image here was created with a graphic from Marie's Freebies.

One more thing: If you want to add the blog button, it is on my sidebar. Right click on the picture and save to your desktop. Then, go to your own blog and find where it says "ADD A GADGET." Then, click on that and add the button as a PICTURE! Easy! Where it says to put in an http, just put in

Just make sure that you do not type http 2 times, only once!

Garden Delights

Hi Everyone--

Today I thought I would bring you some flowers from Louisiana. Our
2-story plantation-style home was lucky enough to be chosen for Garden of the Month...we are excited!

I wanted to show you some pics.

A Special "Thank You" to Wanda

Hi Everyone:

I came on my blog earlier tonight and to my surprise I was the winner of a beautiful gift of vintage ecru napkins from Wanda at Victorian 1885...I was so surprised--and it touched my heart. How very sweet!

So, I got to thinking about Wanda's 2 precious dogs on her blog and decided to make her 2 "Paris" pictures. They are like the ones I made my little Jamie (bottom left of this blog.)

Thank you again, Wanda!

Hi Everyone--
Welcome to my blog...thank you for visiting! I would love to tell you that I know the name of this pattern, but I don't...When my grandmother went on a trip to Europe, she brought back these tea cups and I wanted to put one of them on display for you. There is a set of 12. I love pink roses!

I hope you'll stay awhile and have a look around!

Paris Dress

Last night, I was over at the wonderful blog, Nan's Niche--she is an amazing, super-talented artist! She wrote about a dress challenge...Oh me, oh my, when I was little, I loved to play with dolls--it was my very favorite thing to do!!! So, at 3 in the morning, you guessed it--I was making a dress!

But, this was not just any dress....You see, now that I am grown up, I am a columnist for a newspaper...So, I made the dress out of this week's newspaper! And then, I put black tulle over it...It has black satin straps with miniature faux pearls. Lastly, I made a shawl to go with it from cheese cloth.

I made this summer dress to honor Paris as the fashion capital of the world....

Embellished with commercial paper.

I made it for 2 challenges. One is Dress Up--Hugs to Margaret!!!

and for Mixed Media Monday--Hugs to Diane!!!

Hugs to the people at Paris in July! I am linking up to that also.

And hooking this up to The French Obsession Challenge--hugs to Frenchy!!!

Also, I've got some exciting news--I hope you'll scroll down to see it!

Tea Cup Tuesday

Hi Everyone--

I received a sweet post today from Terri at Tea Cup Tuesday asking if I had any teacups I could display for this Link Party...Wow, where do I begin? I have 8 complete sets of fine china from Wedgewood to Royal, I chose a teacup from my favorite set and thought I would display it for you...I have also been collecting fine china tea cup sets for more than 30 years, so I will have much more to share with you in the future. All of them are English bone china.

My apologies for a lack of flowers and full setting, but I was trying to do this quickly to be on time!

Wow, it sounds very much like, "I'm late, I'm late for a very important date!"

Thank you for visiting me.

Mixed Media Monday--"Play" Theme

Mixed Media Monday's theme is "Play." So, what is my REAL idea about that? For me, when I am playing, it's when my buttons and ribbon and flowers are on the, I took a picture of them and used them for the background of this picture.

Have a great day!

I saw it, but now I can't find it!

Your help would really be appreciated.

Pail with Eggs--For Brag Monday and Mixed Media Monday

Hi Everyone--When I saw this little pail, I couldn't wait to incorporate it into this week's project...I used an image from the Graphics Fairy. I love the light blue as a soft accent color in this graphic. I added moss grass, miniature eggs, and silk flowers for a light summer feel. It is adorned with pale grayish blue organza ribbon.

The more I'm looking at this picture, I'm thinking that the miniature eggs look like potatoes! But, in person they really do look like

(One more thing, if you decide to try this, you can also add a card with a name on it tucked inside and use it as a place holder for a luncheon--fun and simple!)

This little pail is being linked up to:

Mixed Media Monday
Brag Monday at the Graphics Fairy.

If you would like to enter the "Paris" clips drawing and "French Beauty" drawing, just scroll down the page....the drawing is on the 15th!

Thank you for looking!

Surprise Day!

Hi everyone...

Today is Surprise Day here on my blog! I have just completed 2 tags--one is for Maria in Australia and one is for Jody.

They were created using commercial papers and embellishments.

Maria’s is the one with the butterfly and the number 8 as Maria has eight children...she is very blessed! And Maria makes such beautiful mixed media art!

Jody’s is the one with the glittery bird on it and flowers. Since her website is Home and Heart, I thought that she would find a wonderful place to display it.

(Maria and Jody, please email me your addresses and last names so that I can send these to you.)

I hope you’ll visit their blogs and be inspired.

Note: I will have Surprise Day every once in awhile here at Whimsical Musings. First, I pick 2 names at random from people who visit my blog, and then make a tag especially for them. It’s a new tradition that I just started--how fun!
