Each Day is a Gift to Us

My friend Roselle from Seaside Rose Creations is a wonderful artist and I wanted to share a picture of her precious, hand-painted Christmas bulbs--they’re available in her Etsy shop. Aren’t they just the sweetest treasures?

They got me to thinking about something...which brings me to my question for you for this week--What is one of the sweetest things that someone has ever done for you?

(And I hope it will be something that caught you by surprise--something you weren’t expecting.)

Roselle actually surprised me with the sweetest package that arrived a few weeks ago...It was an envelope filled to the brim with “artist’s” treasures...vintage paper, book pages, ribbon, lace--you name it, it was in there! Sometimes, life has the nicest way of smiling at us through friends and family.

And right as I was in the midst of preparing this message, a gift arrived from my friend Nancy from The Trinket Collector--I was so surprised! She and her husband had been to Atlantic City to celebrate their wedding anniversary and she sent me Salt Water Taffy from there AND also, amazing vintage postcards--I couldn’t believe my eyes!

Every day is, indeed, a special package that we open--ours to do with what we choose...Unwrapping gifts of caring from friends is such a delight and I can’t begin to express how they warmed my heart.

Wow Cindy, your friend Roselle is indeed an artist! Those are gorgeous and dainty Christmas ornaments.
You're right, each new day is a gift and I'm grateful to be able to choose how I unwrap another day. Thank you for sharing.

Those handpainted ornaments are beautiful. Always pure delight to receive surprises in the mail. And truly, every day is a gift. You realize that even more when you begin to hear of heartache and loss. My uncle was killed in a car accident the other day. And in the past several days, I've heard of the passing of many, injury of others. We must count our blessings and breathe in the moment of each and every hour. Best wishes, Tammy

Hi Cindy... What lovely ornaments - so very sweet as if they are for a new human being. The sweetest thing someone has done for me; oh my... so many sweet things...the little moments in life really but I think today I want to remember the big sweetest thing; when my husband proposed to me. The place was London in Kensington Gardens right by the gazebo. It was a warm and gorgeous October day in 1979 and he asked me to share his life with him... A big sweet moment; a life changing one! A great surprise too as we hadn't known one another long!

Those bulbs are adorable! I should snag a few for my daughter's friends. What a great gift they would make. So much "sweetness" in this post. I hope you have a great weekend. I'm taking a day off from the day job to finish up projects for my holiday open house. Wishing you a relaxing and creative weekend!
