As you can see, I have been busy creating Mother's Day pieces for my Etsy shop. The latest is this "Shabby Cottage Garden."
I design for Shabby Cottage Studio and the wooden shrine that it was created with is one of their products from their awesome on-line store!
Lots of shabby goodness here in addition to a nest and eggs--perfect for someone who enjoys their garden and would like to bring "the outside" in!
Here is a mixed-media, silver-toned bezeled bracelet from my shop...It was created with images from Madame Tussaud's Museum Collection.
This one of a kind piece is like wearing a virtual garden on your wrist! This is the only bezeled bracelet left in my shop.
So many of our moms inspire us--so, I wanted to create this piece with an image from Dezinaworld where I am on the Design Team. The image of the girl is from their Spring collection. The background is theirs, as well.
I have a question for you~Do you have any special memories from your childhood of your mom in her garden?
As for me, I remember when it rained, my mom would break off little pieces of bread and put them on the fence around our house so that the birds would not go hungry because of inclement weather. That was such a sweet thing to do!
A special blog event is starting on Sunday--so, please come back and take a look!
XO
Cindy

Beautiful, Cindy...love your shabby cottage garden! I love you memory of your mother! I remember my mother always planting morning glories...her name is Gloria, and her father always said, "Morning, Glory!" The flowers always reminded her of that, and now they remind me of my mother, too...
Aloha Cindy,
Your Shabby Garden Cottage is just beautiful. Definitely fit for a Mom. I remember my Mom loved working in her garden. She loved her orchids and anthuriums the most and loved showing them off to her family and friends.
Your bracelet is gorgeous too! I've made a few charms using some vintage Hawaiian images, but never thought to make a bracelet. Your work is beautiful.
TFS and warm hugs.
Hi Cindy,
That is a sweet memory of your Mom.
Your Shabby Cottage Garden is wonderful! I love the butterflies and the birds! And your bracelet is gorgeous, love the colors!
I remember my Mom planting sweetpeas. Oh I love them. And She would be outside stringing them up. And I would try to help her.:)They smelled heavenly.
Hugs to you,
Sonya
Hi Cindy, your pieces are wonderful as always. I finally got a new home computer and now have my scanner/printer working again so I can get back to creating with paper images. Yea! I don't remember my mom working in the garden. But I remember our huge backyard in Mississippi and how she would put her hair in a ponytail and mow the grass with an old push mower. :) I started mowing the grass when I was about 10 and always loved doing it. Now it's hard to find a patch of grass in this country. :/ Have a wonderful Wednesday. Tammy
What a nice memory of your Mom...so sweet :)
My Mom always claimed to have a "brown thumb"...the only flowers that grew in our yard were white calla lilies...she was amused that the only thing she could keep alive were flowers traditionally used for funerals..haha!
That little shrine makeover is adorable!
so gorgeous, your mum will be thrilled, my mum has green fingers she rescues all my plants when they look they are dead and nusrses them back then she returns them and then gets them back again.....after doing it twice with one orchid I gave her the orchid as I felt it would be cruel to subject to another trauma
hugs
Feeding birds on bitter weather sounds nostalgic for me and your story was really cute. I also do love my mom and her daisy and rose bloom garden.
oh what a wonderful memory oh your mum hun, these are just wonderful works of art just stunning hun hugs cheryl xxxxxxx

Great work, as usual! Valerie
Another masterpiece...stunning!!
One memory of my Mom in her garden is she was weeding..I was quite small at the time, maybe 5 or so..and remember this quite well, as all of a sudden she went screaming across the yard ripping her blouse off (good thing we lived in the country)..she had gotten into a nest of ground hornets and they got inside her blouse and flew after her.....I guess I remember it as it made quite an impression on me at the time...we laugh about it now...just wanted to mention my Mom is going to be 84 May 6th..she still lives alone and she still gardens!!
HI Cindy
Sorry I haven't been around much - life gets in the way sometimes!!
I love your garden pieces and the birhouse is just divine.
One garden memory of my Mum is her love of flowers, and in the summer she always grew Fuchsias, she loved them. I have some in my garden that originated in hers and every year I take a few more cuttings.
I hope you are keeping well. Take care.
luv and hugs {brenda} xoxox
I grew up in New York so no garden for mom. Lovely post.
What a sweet memory of your Mom. This piece is one of my absolute favorites. I love butterflies. My mom was not much of a gardener. I do remember my Grandmother doing the same for the birds. She always was so thoughtful and frugal.
Hello Cindy,
Love these pieces! They will be gone in no time at all.
~ Gabriela ~
Hi Cindy,
Beautiful as always! My Mom had her lilacs
that was her favorite flower. She had a beautiful lilac tree in NY.
Hugs!
Linda
Hi Cindy, Happy Wednesday! I love this post, Moms are the best and we all need them! My Mom did not have a green thumb at all and neither do I! I wish I did because I love flowers! I have a great childhood memory of my greatgrandmother who lived to be 107 and when we would go visit her there would be a field of sunflowers and I loved them, everytime I see them it reminds me of her!! Hugs ♥
Always wonderful to visit here Cindy! My mother did not garden at all, but my father sure did--he had the greenest thumb I ever saw! We had so MANY beautiful flowers and the vegetable garden was unbelievable. I live in the house where I was raised, and I have many memories of our outside throughout the years.
Beautiful pieces!! LOVE the birdhouse!!
NO. No childhood memories about my mom gardening. She doesn't do that, ever. She is also afraid of bugs. Scared to death is a better way to put it!! But, we did go outside all the time, she just stayed away from bugs!!
xxDaniella
Pretty shabby birdhouse...okay that doesn't sound or look right when I type it.... but you know what I mean. Golly I not only remember my
Mom in the garden..especially the Rock Garden at our old house when I was little....but also my Grandma's old timey rose bush...my Great- Grandma and Great-Aunt's backdoor garden (they lived together) and my other Great-Aunt who had a little postage stamp yard and grew heirloom plants and trees from cuttings! When I say heirloom she'd go to our various family farms and take plants that had been growing for years..1800's....and transplant them...I have a peony that is from my Great-Grandparents farm That is at least 50!
Holy cow even my plants are vintage!
Dear Cindy
Both the birdhouse and bracelet are incredible.
Memories, strangely enough I was talking to my Mum only the other day about a memory of when rhubarb was ripe in the garden. She would cut ruby red stalks for me to share with the boy who lived next door and in a tiny Tupperware container she would add sugar for us to dip the stalks into.
Wishes
Lynne
Those are just beautiful. I do love the bracelet too. I love to have the outdoors inside, some homey and charming. Have a great day!! Hugs, Kim
You did a superb job on both the birdhouse and the gorgeous bracelet, so different and so pretty nevertheless! Where would we be without memories, those nostalgic feelings... My mother was fond of yellow flowers in general, as long as they were yellow. We had quite a few rose bushes in our garden when I was little; nowadays I always put some yellow flowers in a vase on my mum's birthday and the day she passed away, this is my promise to her... Hugs, Ira
This is absolutely beautiful! What a fabulous piece!!! The bracelet is wonderful, too! Wow!
gorgeous gorgeous!
Beautiful art pieces; you are so talented. I have many fond memories of my Mamma...but I always picture her in the kitchen cooking...she is a wonderful cook! Speaking of mothers, I am having a Mother's Day Giveaway over at The Cranky Queen.

Hey Cindy..Just love those bird houses. Your creativity never ceases to amaze. Your use of texture, layers and color is so lucious! You know I adore what you do! My mom story..you know it was spring when my mom, grandma and I planted pansies. They symbolize Spring to me....take care dearest, gerri
These pieces are amazing, Cindy! I am so in love with the first one - that butterfly and the Prima flowers. :) My mom didn't garden. LOL My dad did all the gardening. My mom and I have black thumbs - which is why I also rely on my hubby for gardening help. He does a great job! :) Theresa
Hi Cindy
how are you doing? hope all is well with you:)
Love your post, I think any mom would be proud to own a piece of art like that in their home ( and heart) I love how you put it all together, you eye for colour and details is absolutely amazing!!!
My favourite memory of my mom is when she waters her vegetable patch and how she stands over each one of them. Clipping, trimming and just standing there like a "proud mama"
hugs
Manni
I don't remember my mom ever gardening, but we did have mint that used to come back every year along the back of the garage. She would pick it for her ice tea. There were also Lily of the Valley there and before the house was sold I dug some up and planted it on my mother's grave. I'm afraid it hasn't done real well because of the sun, but some was still there last September when my dad was buried next to her in NJ.
You are so creative. Everything is beautiful.
Hi Cindy!
Beautiful memory of your Mother...It is so you girl to create with beautifully inspiring paper!
The wood birdhouse is so cute, I bought one years ago at our craft store and covered it with fabrics and vintage trims, jewels, bottons and more! Thank you for thgis beautiful piece.

Beautiful Cindy as ever , such gorgeous happy creations filled with such gorgeous details.

Before I tell you of my memory and Mom in a garden, your little house is amazing. Love all the elements and that big butterfly! The bracelet is equally beautiful! You are so creative! I had eye surgery, while my kids were pretty young and I was a single mom! I needed someone to drive me home after the surgery and stay with me for a couple of days, so my mom was happy to escape! While she was up to keep an eye on me, she decided to work in the yard a little. A rock or piece of something went in her eye! Guess who had to take her to the doctors? So there we are, both of us with patches on our eyes! We went to the store the next day and this one man was just looking at us and I said, "Well she started it." True story!
Lovely work and yes I always stop sometime I leave a comment and other times just to pray for you.
Thanks for visiting me today and leaving such nice comments. I wanted to tell you that I adore the braclet you made!Your work is always impressive and so creative. I enjoy looking at it everyday. take care, gerri
Hi Cindy,
Love all the gorgeous creations and with mother's day upon us, they will be gone very fast. Your talents are over the moon my friend.
Yes, I have special memories of my mother and grandmother in their gardens and a time of learning for me as we told stories and sang songs.
Love your sweet memory too.
Hope you have a great weekend.
Love, Celestina Marie
Cindy, your shabby cottage garden is lovely. So beautiful! Terri
Cindy,
The house and bracelet are so incredibly beautiful! I don't have any garden memories of my mom. She was too busy chasing around her crazy sons to have time to put in a garden! I know she would have loved one. She was a wonderful mom who died too soon...I was eighteen and she had a heart infection, poor dear. I still miss her after all these years.
Hugs,
Suz
Enchanting. Even with my eyes closed- the music!
My mother was Puerto Rican. She brought the jungle with her. Which was a bit disconcerting to a child growing up in the land of over-groomed gardens. As an adult- growing up in that garden gave me courage to be different.
This is absolutely beautiful! Cindy !!
Just a fabulous and wonderful piece!!! The bracelet is gorgeus at all !!!
Thanks for all your lovely comments..you always so nice.
Have a wonderful weekend.
Hugs from Brazil
Cynthia
Such beautiful pieces dedicated to mothers, Cindy...your work is always so lovely!
I shared a story today that kind of fits...my 3rd great-grandmother and her healing skills using herbs, vegetables, etc., from her garden...
Hoping your day is wonderful, my friend...
Julie
Absolutely wonderful! I love the Inspire piece. Oh my goodness. My Mom in her garden! So many memories. My favorite revolve around her little fish pond and the time she spent with my daughter looking at tadpoles and showing her around the garden. This is really making me smile. So glad I stopped by your blog today!
what a lovely bird house! I love all the beautiful details!
My mother had so amanzing flowers in our garden and I love it all!
hugs Regina
