"An Excursion into Beautiful"

Matchbox & Tag

This creation is dedicated to YOU, my friends. Well, the reason for the theme is to let you know how important you are. That’s why it’s called An Excursion into Beautiful.

We glue, we glitter, we sew, we craft, we clean (okay--so that part may be a lie!), we take care of family, pets, and friends--and then, we try to make our way in this world of art and craft. We share it, we live, we breathe it and make friends along the way.

I’m telling each one you--this IS our time! We are creating art for a reason. We are crafting for a reason.

Just think, if we didn’t put that first drop of glue on a page or stitch that first stitch in a quilt, we would never know what JOY it brings to others. So, as you go about your day and your life, just remember that you are being lead somewhere...it truly is a beautiful excursion.

And for those of you who don’t produce art--wow! You are the reason that so many of us do this--to bring creativity that you can enjoy. You provide the inspiration! Each and every person has a valuable part in this journey...

Each and everyone of you are beautiful--Don’t forget it. And now, I’ll tell you the story behind this new piece of art...

One day, my husband got an idea that I would need a matchbox painted shiny black. I told him, “Oh Honey, I don’t need that.”

Well, he paid no attention, went to buy the paint, set about painting it and said, “One day when you need it, here it is!” That “one day” came within 24 hours when I saw these images from Dezinaworld. (Was he intuitive or what?) So, here is the finished creation.

Tag tucked inside the matchbox

The graphics for today’s piece are from Dezinaworld. And the sheet music paper is from The Graphics Fairy.

I will definitely take your button, Cindy and put it on my blog! Just the button itself is so pretty ~ I can't imagine what lovelies you will be showing this week. Had to laugh at the "cleaning" mention; I don't think I got anything except for laundry done this weekend.

Cindy - guess your hubster was on the ball with that one, huh? You just have such a way with the way you put things together! Don't laugh but are those "match boxes" really those little match boxes that slide apart? I have always wondered that! Hope your Monday is wonderful! xxoo Diana

Hi Cindy. Wow, you're lucky to have a crafting partner in your hubby. My family members "don't get it." That is, until they get a pretty card or box.

Hope you're having a beautiful week, dear friend.

Hi Cindy!
Your husband is a real sweetie. I just love this matchbox and tag! This was a really nice post as well. I think it's so important that us/we girls build each other up every chance we get :)
I haven't read that book, but I read another one by Joel Osteen and he is just such an inspirational writer and speaker - I'm sure you'll enjoy it.

Hi Cindy,
I do love this piece, especially the purple words inside. Funny about both doing a balloon piece! I have one for tomorrow too. We really do have the same taste, I just realized "musing" is in both of our tittle! Ill check out the Joel Ornstein book... or maybe a tape. Take care sweetie, gerri.
