Scrap for Help November Challenge

Hi Everyone~
My awesome friend Roselle of Seaside Rose Creations was in need of an avatar for her amazing Etsy store....and she wanted a new Etsy banner too...

Well, I love her vintage finds, as well as her own creations, so this banner was fun to make. I adore that dress form so I knew it had to be used for her avatar! If you would like to visit Roselle, just click the name of her blog. I know she'd love to hear from you.

Marie of Dollys Daydreams wanted a whole new look to her blog--and oh, this was wonderful opportunity for me to find some of her beautiful pieces and showcase them....This encaustic work is so gorgeous. I just knew that the lady's hand was perfect for her blog button.

But, trying to narrow my choices down to 3 pieces was the hard part! But, I thought it would be precious to include one of Marie's handmade flowers to offset the hand holding the rose. If you would like to see more of Marie's work, just click the name of her blog and it will take you there directly.

It is now time for Scrap for Help's November challenge...I serve on their design team, so I created this Christmas collage using a vintage book and several kinds of lace. The image is from Dezinaworld.

In every project for Scrap for Help, we recycle or re-use something--so, I got a vintage book to use for this piece. If you would like to join in the fun, you have a whole month to make something. The winner gets a prize! To take a look at the amazing work of the design team, just go here.

My Victorian Christmas Week starts this Wednesday--I can hardly wait!!

Sending hugs to you all,
Cindy

An Interview, a Banner, and a New Shrine

Debra and Nicole at Maison St. Germain just interviewed me about my new books. Debra and Nicole, thank you so much! To read the interview, please go HERE.

Of course, my books are about blogging! But, in the interview, I explain why I think blogging is like on big pajama party! Don't you agree?

As many of you know, I create custom blog headers and buttons, as well as Etsy banners and avatars...I have been making special "Shop for Christmas at" banners as you can see above, but each store's is custom with their own pictures.

I just created this "Ode to Spring" Shrine...

It gave me a chance to use pink!

I have used lace, flowers, buttons, cheesecloth--and more to create it...

I also completed a Mother Mary Shrine which is featured below this post if you would like to see it.

Next week is my Victorian Christmas Week beginning on Wednesday!!!

Etsy Banners & Mother Mary Shrine

Hi Everyone--

I have a new Christmas banner for my Etsy shop. If you are in need of a new Christmas one for your shop, feel free to contact me for prices at Cindylou_20@hotmail.com

I have just created this new Mother Mary Shrine....It is quite large and made from chipboard. Please click to see the detail.

I think it exudes peacefulness...

A Tim Holtz "Listen" tag is a reminder to listen to our inner voices and inspiration.

Wishing you a day filled with peace and happiness~

Also, Ira at Ira's Crea Corner is having a fabulous giveaway--It is for the amazing scrapbooking program by My Memories. For a chance to win, you can go to her blog HERE.

My Newest Creation

My "Victorian Christmas Week" will be coming up soon with a giveaway, tutorial, and "how-to's." I hope you'll join me for lots of creative fun~

Have you ever worked on something and had so much FUN? I just created this chipboard book for my granddaughter Naomi. She lives at a distance, so it was a way to send kisses across the miles~and it was fun to make.

I found the chipboard house-shaped book at Michael's and "went to town" decorating it.

I thought that this would make a cute "Bedside Book" that she can look at whenever she feels like it...

But, because it dangles from a binder ring, it can also be hung on the wall. I hope that you are having a happy, creative day!

As I design for Dezinaworld, all of the images in the book are from Dezinaworld's Pretty As a Picture graphics sheet.

Four Little Princesses

Readymade princess crowns are fun to decorate with personalized, individual tags...

Here are some special crowns for little girls to play Dress Up.

Each tag has a name on it for its intended recipient....

I made them from the Fairy Sheet from Shabby Cottage Studio.

Then, I added some roses and bling to the tags!

and tied them to the crowns with pink organza ribbon....

Do we ever out-grow wanting to be princesses?

Blogging Gives Us Wings

Hi Everyone--

I think that all of us bloggers are so lucky to have found each other online--to be able to share our experiences, projects--and more!

Remember when we were in high school and used to talk to our friends into the wee hours of the night? Well, I think that blogging is like that only we even reach more people.

I created a digital collage using the image from my book, as well as images from Dezinaworld. The dress form on the book cover is from the Graphics Fairy.

Thank you all for your prayers--I appreciate them more than you know.

Love,
Cindy

Write It on Your Heart

Hi Everyone~
Today I received some amazing news--I just found out that I am a Ginger Gem on Gingersnap Creations!

I had submitted this piece in the contest--It's actually in my Etsy store. And it was chosen for their contest! Thank you to everyone at Gingersnaps!

* * *On Nov. 2, I will be having a week of creativity with a giveaway, tutorial, and "how-to's" to get your craft on for Christmas~I hope you'll join me for this event. I have art projects with instructions if you want to make them too!

* * *Then, the week before Thanksgiving, starting Nov. 14, I will have "A Week of Blessings." This is not about me--it's about all of YOU. I am hoping that you will come over and tell a story about either the blessings in your life--or a miracle that has happened to you. I have had a lot of miracles, so I will have to think of one in particular to share.

"Write it on your heart that each day is the best day of the year"--Ralph Waldo Emerson

* * *I have created these Gratitude Journals with graphics from Dezinaworld and other embellishments. They are available in my Etsy store for under $10. I thought they would make perfect journals to write blessings in.

* * *UPDATE: WE JUST GOT HOME FROM THE HOSPITAL AND MY HUSBAND HAD THE SURGERY--PLEASE, STILL NEEDING YOUR PRAYERS!!! THANK YOU SO MUCH!!

In the meantime, if you are in need of headers or blog buttons, feel free to write me as I will still check my mail at night and will be working from home.

Love,
Cindy
