Shabby Chic Decor--Setting a Vintage Mood

Hi Everyone~

If you love vintage style, there are simple ways to add timeless flair to your surroundings. You can tie hand-stamped seam binding around your silverware. (This is actually an old pattern that my husband picked up recently on one of his buying trips.)

A vintage photo with a pair of gloves is always dreamy...

An old doorknob can be placed almost anywhere that you want to add character....

A skeleton key placed next to a photo can be quite effective too.

A wonderful friend of mine named Velma recently sent me a collection of old family photos. Thank you, Velma! If you look closely, you’ll notice that the woman in these pictures had her photographs taken in front of a chicken coop. (Little did she know that chicken wire would be so popular for home decorating in the future!) I will be sharing more of these photos as time goes on.

Wishing you all a wonderful week!

I'm Determined!

Hi Everyone~

This weekend I got a stationery bicycle at Academy Sports, as well as 5 lb. weights...So, guess who will be working out!

I only got one set of weights and actually, I hope that 5 lb. ones are not too heavy...What do you think? I realized that maybe I should have gotten 3 lb. ones, but since the store is very far away, it looks like I won't be taking them back.

If you've used them, could you let me know what you think about my choice?

I hope you all have a great week!!!

Counting My Blessings

Hi Everyone~

This weekend, a big event is going on!

Beverly of Pink Saturday has teamed up to help raise money for Design Gives Back! This is a wondrous charitable organization with the amazing Kelee that has been featured on Oprah because of all the work that she and her volunteers do.

I hope that you will do me a BIG favor and leave a message on this post and also at Pink Saturday. For each comment that someone writes, money will be donated to this worthwhile cause--how neat is that?

In addition, the theme this week for Pink Saturday is “Counting My Blessings,” so I created this digital art with graphics from Shabby Cottage Studio. Thank you so much for coming to visit me and I’m so grateful for your comments!!
