Mothering Instincts Week Ends with a Giveaway!

Hi Everyone~

"Mothering Instincts" Week gave me the perfect opportunity to have a big giveaway! The winner will be announced the Saturday night before Mother's Day. If you'd like to post a blog button on your sidebar, that would be awesome!

There will be one winner. To enter the drawing, just become a follower and leave a comment on this post.

There are so many goodies, it's impossible to list them all and I couldn't get them all into the photo! But, in addition to brand-new store-bought items, I also made flowers, tags, and embellishments for your art.

I also wanted to show you some of my creations that are in my Etsy store...No, they are not part of the give-away, but I thought you'd have fun seeing them!

With Moms in Mind--A Garden Full of Memories

Hi Everyone~

As you can see, I have been busy creating Mother's Day pieces for my Etsy shop. The latest is this "Shabby Cottage Garden."

I design for Shabby Cottage Studio and the wooden shrine that it was created with is one of their products from their awesome on-line store!

Lots of shabby goodness here in addition to a nest and eggs--perfect for someone who enjoys their garden and would like to bring "the outside" in!

Here is a mixed-media, silver-toned bezeled bracelet from my shop...It was created with images from Madame Tussaud's Museum Collection.

This one of a kind piece is like wearing a virtual garden on your wrist! This is the only bezeled bracelet left in my shop.

So many of our moms inspire us--so, I wanted to create this piece with an image from Dezinaworld where I am on the Design Team. The image of the girl is from their Spring collection. The background is theirs, as well.

I have a question for you~Do you have any special memories from your childhood of your mom in her garden?

As for me, I remember when it rained, my mom would break off little pieces of bread and put them on the fence around our house so that the birds would not go hungry because of inclement weather. That was such a sweet thing to do!

A special blog event is starting on Sunday--so, please come back and take a look!

Tag Tuesday--"Tree" Theme

The theme for "Tag Tuesday" is "trees."

I design for Dezinaworld and I created this collage with their images! (Some are also from Scrap Girls.)

Then, I used this digital tag from Dezinaworld and created my tag.

I hope you're all having a wonderful "treezy-breezy" day!

Mothering Instincts Week continues~there's a question for you if you scroll down to the next post!

Mothering Instincts Week Continues

Hi Everyone~

I wanted to share some altered art pieces that are in my Etsy shop...
They are ideas for Mother's Day for your mom--or for yourself!

Dreaming in Black and White Necklace

And, as Mothering Instincts Week continues, I have a question for you....What is the best advice your mom ever gave you?

As for me, my mom always reminded me of the saying, "This too shall soon pass." Those words have alot of truth. She'd say it when I was a teenager crying over a break-up or later in life if things got rough...Those words have stayed with me. I think her advice was something I could hold onto throughout my lifetime.

How about you? What is some sound advice your mom gave you?

"Mothering Instincts" Week Begins!

Shabby Chic Torso

Hi Everyone~

Welcome to “Mothering Instincts” Week here at Whimsical Musings. I’d like to start by showing you my latest project--this “Shabby Chic Torso” now available in my Etsy shop. I have used curly seam binding ribbon to adorn this piece.

Up Close

I had no idea that it would take 10 hours to create! But, it is a real favorite of mine and I thought it would make a memorable gift for Mother’s Day.

As many of you know, I design for Shabby Cottage Studio and the torso is from their wonderful online store! (The music note graphics are from The Graphics Fairy.)

I have some wonderful news~My Paris Collage has just been featured on The Graphics Fairy’s Craft Blog....I hope you’ll check it out ~and it’s a great place to visit for new ideas!

Paris Collage--Custom Order

And before you go, I want to ask you a question....What is your earliest memory of your mom? I’ll tell you mine. I was about 3 or 4 years old and my mom bought the Snow White Album from Disney. We listened to the story and read the accompanying book together. It was a really happy moment for me.
